Status ?? laid-off less than 60 days of submitting I-485

Hello,

I was on H1B visa.
My company submitted my I-485, EAD, and AP applications about 1 month ago.

Now, I just got laid-off.
What is my status in USA?
When I receive my EAD, can I use it to find a
new job?
Do I have to restart the green card process again?

Find a Similar Job

The best thing is that you find a similar job with similar job title and responsibilities. The Salary could be issue or may not be an issue, this is not clear by the INS yet. But if you find a similar job you should be fine Even if you get RFE or Interview.


Who knows, may be you will get the approval without RFE.

do you have your I 140 approved, i donot yet, your employer should keep th h1 going just to be on the safe side also he should continue your i 140 pocess that is he should not request cancellation or anything like that.
