Status Information Letter - Required?

Hello everyone,

I am applying for Naturalization, here is my story:

Came to the US in 2005 with a "Q1" working visa, overstayed my visa and stayed undocumented until August 2009 when i receive my green card through mariage. I became 26 years old in March 2009, so i was "illegal" when turned 26.
I could have applied for citizenship via marriage 3 years after, which would be August 2012, and after 5 years without being through mariage which would be August 2014. I am currently 33 years old, as i decided to apply for citizenship i read that i needed the "Status Information Letter", according to their website i need to proof when i entered the country, which i cannot since i lost my old passport with the stamp of entry.
I have also heard that after 31 years old you do not need it anymore, does that mean that i don't even have to send the "Status Information Letter" with my application? my question would be, now i am 33, do i still need this letter? if so how can i proof when i entered the country without the passport? If i really need my old passport, then i guess i wont become a citizen, since passport is long gone...
