Status Information letter from Selective Service

I am applying for citizenship based on greencard + 5 years eligibility. I was in US in F-1, H-1B status until I am 29 years old. Do I need to get “Status Information Letter” from the Selective Service?

Technically no, but frequently people find that having a status letter is useful because it covers them in case there were any gaps in status during the transition between F1 and H1B.
