I came into US on H4 visa in Nov 2003. I applied for H1 in Apr 2004. I got the H1B approval in Sept 2004, but the start date was Oct 2004 as it was given from new quota. I decided not to work and asked my employer sent a H1B cancellation letter in last week of Sept i.e. before the H1B start date.
I want to know what is my current Status. Do I need to again file for H4 or since the H1 cancellation was sent before its start date I remain on H4 status.
