Hi everyone,

This might be a really silly question, but I got to ask it.
I am a state employee in michigan. Now, being a state employee help in speeding up the Green card process. Any information would be higly appreciated.

not really, you can try though, also it doesn't qualify u for NIW or EB1

you need other credentials like everyone else..and then some minor consideration may be applicable..

I understant that having a state job is not going to help "much"?

Can you guys give a little more detail on

1) how would having a state job help??

2) What would be the difference in terms of time taken to process the GC.

Your quick response is highly appreciated. I have to give a response to my current state employer by friday (Sept 2nd) as to wheater I accept their full time position or not.

What I meant is that if your boss has some kind of inluence (e.g. governor, attorney general), a well placed phone call can move you up. My brother-in-law married a woman that was very friendly with a US Senator's office. GC was approved in 3 weeks. Otherwise, it doesn't make a difference.
