All,
Started my green card process in August 2001. Currently waiting for I-140 approval at CSC, which was receipted July 2003. The company I work for is struggling and my I-140 might be denied on ability to pay, or the company might go be forced to shut down at some point in the future.
Worst case scenario is that I have to return to Australia, wait a year (Yuck!) and return on a new H1B.
So, I was wondering what I could do to considerably speed up the process a second time around.
It would seem to make sense that what I should do is target out employers in areas where the LC and I-140 are being processed fairly quickly in relation to California service centers. Being in a more rural area might also increase the chances of the LC being approved. I could potentially cut the whole process (well at least to the 'safe' point 180 days after concurrent I-140) down to months rather than years.
Does this all seem to make sense? Have I overlooked something major?
Thanks,
Doug.
