Standard Security Clearance??

I contacted the senator regarding my case. He got back a reply from the VSC indicating that my Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status (Form I-485) is still pending final standard security clearance and unfortunately, U.S.C.I.S. is unable to estimate when processing will be completed.

I checked with FBI regarding name check and it was cleared in Jan 2003.
What does this mean...can anyone give some advice...thanks

Unfortunately, only Houdini could provide you with some reliable information. He is dead. Some of his secrets were revealed but USCIS secrets still stay tight.

Check your name, birth date, family members, country of origin, religion, FBI profiling, CIA profiling, your company, your past here in the US and abroad, your current job, your previous jobs, your criminal past and/or lack of it, any AC-21 usage and then declare yourself clean! Therefore the delay was not warranted.

Iam in the same boat. We are very unfortunate to hear those answers from USCIS. My lawyer making regular inquiries and expedite requests, for all of them, reply is same, security checks are pending! they are not even specifically saying what exactly is pending also!....bad luck!
