Whatever copy you take is fine with INS. There are people who took the
courtesy copy alone and got it stamped. I took both of them courtesy
and the original from attorney.. and the INS officer took my original
and gave back the courtesy copy to me.

As a general precaution.. keep a photocopy of your documents for your
file. The original copy, advance parole, EADs and most
importantly..I-94..make copies of them and keep in your file. You just
cannot trust INS.

NiceGuy made a very good point. Before you go for stamping make a photocopy of everything you take with you. If INS misplaces any copies, they may (who know) ask you to provide evidence later on. Furthermore, they don\'t have photocopiers standing by to make copies for the docs that you are going to give them, so make copies of everything you are taking with you.
