Hi Friends:

My fmly and I went for I-551 stamping this week - everything went fine -

Want to share some details (which I had some confusion on) for everyone's benefit.

This is related to Dallas Centre

We went to the 9 AM appointment at 9:45 AM. There was a seperate Q for the appointment folks.

My confusion
Do I need seperate appointments for all (Self, wife & Child) ?
Posted in the forum - no clear decision
Asked my lawyer - Got the clear response, 1 is enuf, as it is for one family.
Not to be left confused, I got another appointment for my wife, tried but failed for my child - so took one for her few days later.

At the Q - The security said - only people who have the appointment can enter the building - uh uh...

The officer at the window - asked the first Question after seeing 3 approval notices - "I hope you guys have 3 appointments made" - hmmm
We gave him all - explaining that we ddid not get for our child on the same day - He went inside talked to some officers - and came back saying -
We are being kind and allowing your child to go along - but cancel the appointment of your child once you have access to internet.

That was real kind - We thanked him for that. He gave us 3 tickets
Went inside immediately, our # was called - spent 20 minutes - the lady was very nice and friendly - she took care of everything - except she wrote the 485 filing date a month off in one passport - (which I noticed after coming out - any issues ?.)

So Please take note - if you are going as a family - take seperate appointments for each (if your centre calls for appointment)

One question:
#1. With the I-551 in the passport - Do I need transit visa to travel via Frankfurt to India ?.

thanks and good luck for all of you.

more than 1 appointment letter?

I am confused too. Lawyer said 1 is enuf for a family (used to require 1 for each member). Some body posted earlier, only 1 appointment allowed for each phone number. That is, no more than 1 appointment can be made with same family phone number.
Which office did you go? Dallas?

PD 7/99
ND 4/02
FP 5/03
AD 5/04
PP 6/11/04

Yes - Change the phone number for each applicant.
1 is not enuf for the family - each member (Even child) requires a seperate appointment.
Dallas is correct.

prospeed congrats!

I have some questions for you.

1. In one of your threads you mentioned that your LUD was changed some what around May 10 and then in few weeks you got approval. When did you get approval e-mail and what was the date of LUD?

Is it too early to conclude that if LUD changes then there is a possibility of good news if your case looks good?

2. You said that you took child for PP stamping. I am sure child did not have to do FP but do they require child to be physically present? What if the baby is small and we decide not to bring at PP stamping?

Thanks longGC.

regarding your questions.

1. Think the LUD changed on 5/5/04 and AD is 5/15. B4 that it never changed after the FP msg. And the mails are received on 5/17.

2. My daughter is 8 years old and she was asked to do FP. They were kind enuf to do her stamping on the same day as ours though we could not get her appointment on our day itself. Reg babies - I am not sure.

Seems you are getting close - I wish you good luck.
