Hi:
I got the approval notice on Oct 12 and we went for stamping on Oct 13
without infopass appointment.
Here is some background info:
I was able to get infopass appt. for Oct 25 after repeated attempts.
I had to use two different computers with two different IP addresses since
it locked me out after first successful completion of infopass appt on the website.
It was early Monday morning when I was able to get through.
Anyway, with appt. for Oct 25 as backup, we decided to take a shot at walk-in on Oct13.
Based on my past visit to PHX INS, we decided to go early and reached
the office at 5:30am. We parked in the BCIS parking lot which is a $2 paid
parking lot just behind the building.
The last time I went there, more than 100 people were
there by 5:30am. This time, there was no one.
The security guards greeted us and chatted with us for a while.
This was contrastingly different from my past experience.
They explained how things are different now.
At about 6:50, they let us in. By that time, there
were about 20 people.
I had to remove all the metal stuff to pass the security scanning. We
went inside building and got a number. And at 6:55 am, we were called.
We gave our notice etc. to the officer and she said that it will take some time.
She took off from her counter and was back in about 15 to 20 mins.
Then she greeted us nicely, commented on my wife's dress, told us
that it must be a big relief for us.
Took our fingerprint and showed the stamping in the passport.
We were out by 7:35 or so.
BCIS at PHX is doing a fine job and our experience was great!
So folks, infopass was not needed at PHX! I cancelled my appts later during
the day.
