Went to Houston office on 5-24/2004.
Only my wife and myself...My kids are not approved yet...
Arrived at 1:45 PM and there were approx. 15-20 people in line for ticket..
But most of them are to ask a question.
Took 20 mins to get the ticket...2 tickets...
Waited 10 mins and they called us...me first...
Time was 2:15 PM...
She asked approval notice, passport, photo and I-94, EAD, AP...
and drivers license...
No other questions (there was one...how to pronounce name of my home town...)
She filled out the form and stamped my passport with some hand writing...
It took only 7 mins for me and 5 mins for my wife...
Finished everything at 2:30 PM...
No hassle...
Was good...
Officer was very kind...

Hi Texasworker,

Did you have to make an appointment before you went to the Houston office, or did you just show up there? I have been to the Houston office once, and after standing in line for almost 2 hours, they said that they were not issuing any more tickets. I went there at around 7 AM and stood in line till 9 AM. But that was just to ask them some questions. Can we make appointments before-hand for Passport stamping? Thanks.

No appointment!

You don't have to...
I went there without any appointment..
I heard a lot of people went early in the morning...
But always lots of people...
Go there 1:00PM...Monday....
That is the best...

What if they are "out of numbers/tickets" once you go in the afternoon to the Houston INS office? Does one need a number if this is for a GC stamp or can one show up at any time ? I need to go soon and VERY hard to take off work next few weeks so am trying to save time

well...

It depends on how many people waiting....
If you arrive around 1:30PM....I think you can get ticket for the stamping...
They close 3:00PM...
On MOnday I saw 15-20 people was there but most of them were just to ask some questions.
There were only 4-5 people for the window work...
I got my ticket aroung 2:00PM i believe...
Finished everything 2:30PM...
Good luck...

Hi texasworker

did you take courtesy copy or original? what is form I-89, do we have to fill before we go to the officer?

Fp

I only had a copy...Original copy is in my lawyers hand...
They do not care about it...
Officer will fill out the form not you..
All you need is to give them:

Approval notice
I-94
Passport
EAD and AP
2 photos
and of course your right index finger....

That was it..
