My family and I went on a Tuesday. We got there about 8:30, received a number by 8:45 and finished the whole thing around 11:45. The wait
was a little longer than I expected, but certainly worth it for this last step.

I don't recall having to provide my drivers license at any point in the process. Just passport, any previous EAD, AP cards, notice, photos, and I-94.

That's right. The guard only checks the approval letter. But the stamping person did check our license. She only asked if the card should goto this address. That's all. But she did check the license and passport.
