All,
Thought this would be help ful if some one is going to Charlotte INS for stamping.
We went on Wednesday (April 7th), heard tuesdays are bad due to citizenship oaths.
We started around 6.30 AM and reached INS around 7.15 AM there were around 15-20 people already in the line waiting.
INS security guard started calling people with appointments from 7.00 am itself.
Finally he started letting others at 7.30 am. We were able to complete security and got number around 8.15 am.
After getting number, they sent us into a big waiting room where around 300 people can sit, there were 8 counters, but only one counter is open. No food or drinks allowed in that room.
We waited till 1.30 pm, they called our numbers at 1.30 pm.
She took all our docs(took 45 mins for 3 of us) and asked to come back after one and hour to collect passports.
Around 3.00 pm we got our passports stamped.
Big relieve!!!!!!!!!!
There are no restaurents or stores if you want to buy some thing to eat, I didn't even see a vending machine inside.
Before going there I enquired with my friend , he said he was able to finish by 2.30 pm, so we prepared breakfast and lunch and took with us.
We came out in between had breakfast and lunch in the car and went inside.
Without the food, it would have been tough waiting for so long.
All the small Kids started becoming cranky from after noon and started crying.
Well, just not the wait for 485, stamping is also painful.
Finally it is over.
Heard one thing that if you reach INS by 6.00 am, there will be a better chance you get out by 9.00 am.
Best of luck to all.
