I got my passport stamped this morning.
Although my courtesy passport had indicated to go to the San Diego USCIS office, I went to Chula Vista this morning with my courtesy copy. Apparently, the San Diego Front Street office does not do stamping anymore. Got in around 6:10 AM and saw about 150 people in line already. Around 6:45 the line had grown to the upwards of 200 and around the same time, two officers came to screen the big line and split it into multiple lines (depending upon the case type). I went to about the 40th position in the next line. Then around 7:45 I entered the main hall and then got a ticket. About 30 minutes later, my turn was called. The officer took the docs (courtesy copy, photos, EADs) but returned me back my I-94. He then stamped my passport and I was out of there at 8:40 AM.
Couple of things to remember:
(a) The closest parking spots in the parking lot are for children (even though the markings are not clear). Cars parked there are very quickly towed. So be cautious. A good samaritan adviced me when I parked there originally, so I changed the spot.
(b) There is a Burger King in the mall but for some stupid reason that does not open early. There is a truck-vendor with some morning snacks, nothing good though.
