Folks,

Finally got the passport stamped at the SF INS office on Feb 21. To say the least, it was an ordeal.

Got in the line at 7:30 in the morning. Passed the security line to enter the building at 8:45.

There was another line to get a token. Got the token and sat down at 9:30.

Token was called after 1 hr 45 minutes. They took our passports (wife and mine) took the EAD card and the AP, two photographs, finger prints and signatures. They changed the address on the approval notice to my address since it had my lawyers address. This took another 30 minutes. I was told to pick up the passports in one hour.

I was finally called to collect the passports after two hours. I again stood in line line and she asked me my DOB and explained the stamp. This took another 30 minutes. I was finally out at 3:00 PM in the afternoon.

Bottom line: Aviod Fridays'. They were announing repeatedly that Fridays and Mondays are the busiest. To top it all it was also the last day people had to come in for special registration. Also there were protests outside the INS office.
