Went to the SJ INS around 10:00AM. Showed the approval notice to the guard. We were inside in 5-7 min. Got a token 5 minutes after that. There were around 16 nos ahead of us. Were called by the officer around 12:45. The officer asked for Approval Notice, PP, I-94 and any other docs I had. I gave the EAD and AP. Signed and finger printed in two places. Got a 1 year stamp. Was out by 1:30PM.

Overall it was a pleasant experience!

Good luck to you all waiting...I'll post once I get the card...Until then zzzz....

Thanks to one and all for your comments, suggestions and insights during this process. This site has been of immense help.

I went for Stamping Too today 7/24/2002

Stood in the line outside by 5:30 and came out by 12:15.
Only One counter was open.

Every one in this foroum was telling it is a easy process. But trust me it is frustrating experience. I waited for 18 months for this card. So hey, no complaints.

Depending on the crowd they operate I think. There might be one 2 or 3 open counters for GC stamping.

But the officer was really cool.

Good Luck to you all. Ill Write Once I get my Plastic Card.
