Guys,

We did our passport stamping in Miami, FL.
Took an appointment for 9.30 AM for Friday, Feb 27. Entered the office at 9.15 and waited for 1.5 hours to get our number.
The officer was pleasant. He took the index fingerprint, signature and 2 Adit photos (did not ask for AP or EAD) and stamped our passport. We were told that the card will be take 3 weeks to 4 months.

We were expecting a fancy stamping, but it was just a seal saying for "processed for I-551. Temporarly evidence of lwful permanet residence"..no country stamp even!!!

How do the other countries figure out that its a legal residence for US:D :D ? Anyway, they didn't even ask us to fill out the I-551 or I-89 form other than the fingerprint and signature. Did anybody was asked to fill ou the form?

Do we have to show up for stamping in order to get the real plastic card? If you don't go for stamping, will they send you the card anyway later? Thanks for info.

cxqiu,

I think we have to do stamping for getting the plastic card. You have to give your FingerPrint again on I-551 form inorder to get the card

Plasticcard: Thanks for the reply. Looks like we have to go for the stamping for the last step to the green card. Do you think what date is going to be the 1st date of the permanent residency? The approval date, the date you do the stamping, or the card issuing date? Congratulations and good luck.
