Hi Folks

The approval notice says to go to sansome street for stamping. No appointment . Is it necessary to get there very early ?

Also we will be flying in from out of town to SFO arriving about 10am . Could we jsut go into SFO and get stamped there ?

any experiences apprecaited.

Continued good luck to you all.

I don't think you can get stamped at SFO, or any other POE. You must go to a USBCIS facility. The only one in San Francisco is at Sansome/Washington.

It is essential to get to Sansome street as early as possible. 10 AM may be OK but if you can get there earlier it would be better. What happens is that they have a limited number of tickets issued everyday because they close at 3:30 PM. They also have some way to estimate how much time it will take to process cases so, if they reach a stage where the amount of time to process a case exceeds the 3:30 PM deadline for the day they will stop issuing tickets and will ask you to come on the next working day.

Since you are coming from out of town if possible use a red-eye flight so that you arrive early in the morning and get to the INS office ASAP.

Also you don't have to come to the office mentioned just to get the stamping.

You can go to any USCIS office to get the stamping - irrespective of which office you are asked to go to. (in the approval notice)
If you have one near where you live, you can do it there.

Of course, all of the above assumes that you want to fly into SFO just for stamping :)

When I got done stamping at SF today it was 10.20am and they were
announcing that there was no more tickets and that the people without
tickets, of which there were many, had to go home.

I arrived at 6.20am

but from what I have seen in the forum, they consider the approval notices as appointments(which doesn't require tickets) and still let you in anytime before 2pm.

anyone, correct me if I am wrong?
