Hi guys,

We went for our passport stamping and got my passport stamped. However, the lady did not stamp my wife\'s passport, instead stamped on a new I-94 card, attached one of her two photos to it and returned it to us. When asked why, she said that her passport has expired! Well, it is not expired the lady just did not bother to check the renewal stamp and date or care to check with us. The passport was renewed in 1998 and is valid till 2007 (she took the documents made us go back and sit and later called and handed our documents, did not do it in our presence for me to point it out when stamping). I pointed it out to her, but she said that it was ok. as she had taken care of it by stamping on new I-94 card. My questions are:

1)Is this OK? Has anyone had similar experience?

2)She took both our I-94 and original I-485 approval notices and EAD card. Is this the usual practice or are they returned back to us?

3) With all this, and her rush in calling the next people in line, we forgot to pen down the A# on the back of photographs. Will this cause any problems or delays?

Thanks

my experience

they take back ALL old I-94s, EADS APs and leave you with stamp on passport only. They shld NOT be stamping on I-94s--be it old or new.
If u r not traveling, most likely not a problem..just wait for you rcard..but if u r, may have some problem an POE

Thats fine.

It happened to me too in Des Moines. Stamped the I-94 card and attached a photo to it.

It\'s not a problem. You should be fine. If you look at the I-9 document, the one for employment you will see mention of the stamp on the I-94 card as proof for employment authorization.
