Stamped! After refusal / 221(g) - Prepare yourself Better!

Friends,

I just want to share my visa stamping experience with US Dept. Hope this may help to prepare better when you send application.

Attempt 1:
PP sent to SL on: Jun 4, 2003
PP recvd SL on: Jun 6, 2003
PP recvd back on: Sept 9, 2003 with refusal letter (221g)

I was asked to submit DETAILED employment letter and send it directly to Washington, D.C address. Also, mentioned that I don’t have to pay this time, but I’ll have to fill up new application with photo attached.

Attempt 2:
Filled out new updated applications + NEW photo + Detailed Emp. Letter + Entire set of H1 papers which I got from my employer (has the employer profiles etc..).

PP sent to DC on: Sept 10, 2003 (Fedex Overnight + return)
PP recvd DC on: Sept 11, 2003

PP recvd with Stamping on Sept 18, 2003

Good Luck!

Have you sailed on same boat? share your experience.

Hi! Try2Immi,

What did you miss in ur employment letter when you applied on 1st Attempt? was it missing nature of business or more detail about ur job?

Thanks

chijan

The employment letter was VERY short, was the reason for rejection. If I included the entire H1B documents that would have satisfied them.

Hello,

Thanks for ur reply. can y tell me what exactly means "short". u mean u didn't include ur employer's nature of business, ur detailed job description, ur salary. how long u been working etc...

thanks

The first employment letter, didn't have my job descriptions or duties.

In the refusal notice the following was circled (means, asked to reproduce)

" You must submit a recent, comprehensive letter on the business/employer's letterhead, bearing an original signature, addressed to Visa Office, Deparment of State, identifying the applicant and describing in detail the nature of the applicant's position with the business/employer. "
