Stamp 551 and DOE

I got my passport stamped today. But the DOE entered by officer is
09/01/04 ? Is this a typo ? Do I need to get it corrected ?

Nope, no typo - I got mine stamped Sep 7 and my AD date was Apr 24 - DOE in PP was Aug 17

I checked with one of my friends. His DOE and stamp date were same. But
he got stamped few years back. Has anyone else got the same issue too ?

Hi all,

I got my passport stamped at downtown LA on Oct. 1, there's no 'DOE' on it??? but I see lots of you talking about 'DOE'.

On the red stamp, it says:

So, there is no real 'DOE' keyword literally in your stamp, just 'Date'.

And it seems to me this 'Date' is the date when I did the stamp, but not the 485 approval date.

Am I right?

I got my PP stamped on 10/15/2004 in SFO and the officer has put 09/29/2004 as the DOE. My actual last DOE to US was 10/21/2003. Details are in my signature.

My DOE is same as AD (10/05/04) in the passport.
By the way looks like the "DOE" or "Date" terms are
used by the officer(s) in quesiton? I have DOE in my
passport. I got stamping in San Jose.

Any way why worry about all this as long as there is
a stamp and that can be used.

Looks like San Jose's officers use a different kind of seal compared with LA's.

I don't care, but I do worry about it if the INS bothers me some days later when I travel around or change of address (AR11).

Could anybody from LA take a look at your stamp, and tell me if it's the same style as mine?

Although I could be wrong, I suspect DOE with respect to the stamp on the pp refers to the date your case was actually approved.

So, for eg: my DOE is Aug 17th - I received an approval email Aug 24 and got my PP stamped Sep 7th - Had my 2nd FP's taken Aug 10th.

The assumption using my logic is after the 2nd FP taken Aug 10, the case was approved Aug 17th, but the email wasn't actually sent out until Aug 24 (I sent in a fax inquiry Aug 23rd)

Who knows....
