Interviewd and not stamped on 4/7/04. But got welcome notice (I-181 creation of record) and cards yesterday by mail.
Do I really need to stamp the passport now. When we travel will they check the card or passport ? I think of stamping
do avoid un neccessary problems by airline authorities.
Does anybody has experience like this ?

Any suggestions. Thanks every one for all replies so far.

Again this is a wonderful forum for people like us. Thanks much for Rajiv Khanna. Wish him all success !!

I dont know an answer for sure, but if I were you, I would get a stamp, so that it proves the Card and passport belong to same person.

Why you received I-181 instead of I-485? Under what circumstances will you receive I-181? Please advise.

Thanks

I don't think you need stamping. Don't worry, you will all fine. Physical green card can explain everything.

we never got the approval letter for 485. After the interview the officer told us we will probably get the welcome notice
by mail in a month and we'll get the cards after that. The 485 message still says "case is trans to local office on.,..."
Any body seen this before ?.
