SSN with EAD

Hi

I got my EAD few months back and few questions regarding SSN Number.

1. If i use EAD to get SSN number for my wife. Does this mean that we have used EAD and she can no longer use H4. Last time when we came from India we have used H1B instead of Advance Payrol and even in future we want to use H1B. If we use EAD to get SSN any issue ?.

2. Do we need to apply SSN from our home state or we can apply in other state. Currently I am working at client location in CA and go home (WA) weekend only. We also maintain apartment at client location (CA) and I can give this address when I apply in CA. Is this issue ?. Please let me know.

No you can apply for SSN and it will not affect her H4. Only if she works with that EAD she will have to go back to India to change back to H4.

As far as you have a valid address from where you can receive mails, you can apply from anywhere. The location is not important for SSN nor does that number affect your GC process.
