I was given a SSN on 10/23. and until now everytime I go to the bank to apply for accounts or even Credit card... and everytime i check and validate my SSN online it says that : THE NUMBER HAS NOT BEEN ISSUED BY SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION. I already checked it with SSA and they said I am in the system. They even gave me a letter that such SSN is assigned to me. But banks and credit union says that its not assigned at all... have anyone of you experienced this situation?

banks and credit unions are accessing the credit report file which will not exist for a new SSN. Usually banks will accept a letter from SSA and/or your SSN card.

a friend of mine experienced the exact same thing, the day she got her SSN , she tried to open an account with bank of america, they didnt find her SSN in the system , the lady at the bank explained that its not the fault of the social security office, but that their system updates every few weeks thats the reason they dont find the number

so the lady at the bank allowed her to open a bank account , and my friend went to the bank after 3 weeks , and updated her account with the SSN, that time they found the number in their system, there is nothing to worry about , just wait for some weeks and they will find your number in their system, good luck
