SSN procedure after GC Stamping...

Hi Guys,
I got my passport stamped and looking for doing the SSN formality of updating the status "work with INS Authorization.." on the social security card. Did any one do this recently?. If you did, please let me know the procedure and docs needed for this.

Take your passport with I-551 stamp, old SS card and go to any SS office and file an application. You will get your new card in 2-3 weeks. They will keep your old card.
Quite a painless process.
 
When I went in , they put in my A# and told me if it is not in their system then I will have to come back after 10 days, but it was already there and so no problem for me.
