SSN After EAD

Folks,

Has anyone received an SSN after obtaining an interim EAD ?. Could some let me know the procedure for receiving the same .

What do you mean by "interim EAD"

My wife has an EAD as our 485 is pending. As soon as she got her EAD, we went to the local Social Security office and applied for an SSN card.. got it in 2 weeks. I think they just need to see your passport and EAD.
 
Thanks , when I said Interim EAD I mean I still don't have an EAD and planning on getting an " Intrim " EAD after which I would apply for a SSN.

I got my wife's intirm EAD today and was wanting to apply for her SSN . I was told in the local office that thier system takes about 2 weeks to be updates with the approval status .

Where did you file your wife's SSN from - State, City .

just take the iEAD, passport and goto SSN office and apply dude..that's all..u will get her SSN card in few days...

I exactly did the same .. I guess their ( INS and SSN ) systems are not in synch and hence the folks in the SSN office are unable to verify the EAD status or rather it still says pending ..

Hi Rotny,

Mine is exactly same situation, Today my wife got interim EAD and onthe way back to home we went to SSN office in Phoenix and applied for SSN.
Officer told us that he could not verify EAD information so he is sending documents to INS and we have to wait to hear from INS.
I am curious , How long it took for your wife to get SSN? Please update me, that will be a great help.
