depressed...
I usually like checking the status of this case number (SRC9927753021) to make myself feel better (RD is Sept 1999, no FP yet), but lately I've started realizing that more and more cases are not updated online. My case has never been updated online, and since I changed my address I always thought that as a backup plan any notices would go to my lawyer. But my lawyer recently changed his address address, and now any notices could be lost in the mail, because USCIS never updated the addresses. I would never know about it.

depressing.

Thanks for listening to my rant. Good luck to everyone waiting.

I should change my name to DepressedGeorge.

We listened to you. You are not alone there suffering, All we have is our hope... Wish you good luck with this special SRC number...

You are counting days from RD........ what is your ND???

Fist do not panic..... and start assuming urself.

here few steps to follow.

Update ur Address by
1. Phone to USCIS
2. send FAX update address with copy of ur petttion to TSC Director
3. call them again USCIS and ask if updated.
4. Ask congresssman/senator to help you in this matter to update address.
5 keep sending fax every week to TSC to update and every fax you send do reference old letter. also mention that, you never receive andy ack from you. nor opt on 800 confirmed that ur address has been updated.
(its assumed that u aldready have filled SR-11)

Start counting days from today and follow the steps

once u got confirmation ur address updated.... send inquery after timeframe after 30 days ... USE ND to count days.... not rd..

Good LUck

Whose case is it?

The 1999 case u mentioned, do u know this person? For all u know he/she has packed up and left for his home. Why don't you call up the famous 800 no. to confirm your address?

I am wondering what makes you think that USCIS never update addresses? It is required that aliens need to use AR11 (if I remember correctly) to let USCIS know any address changes within 10 day(? don't remeber the exact number). My address had been updated in no time. I strongly recommend you to do so! It certainly would save you a lot trouble.

good luck!

Don't be depressed

Mine was similar to your case. I changed my address ( twice ) and even my lawyer changed his office address.

My lawyer sent a fax to BCIS and I sent AR11. I got my notices at new address and my lawyer got them at his new address.

Last month I even got my physical card.

So hang in there and don't loose hope.
cheers

I guess AR11 is for change of address after approval. Before approval when I 485 is pending one needs to send a fax. I maybe wrong but whoever need to do this, please confirm.

I sent AR11 and called to change my address long ago. (see my sig) My lawyer also sent letters to USCIS for all the cases they represent when the law firm moved.

My concern is that I have seen cases on this forum where this method has failed, and USCIS, for some reason, still sent the notices to the wrong address. If this were to happen in my case, neither my lawyer, not I would know about it because we both changed our adresseses. The chances of the notice never getting to either of us has increased dramatically, even though be both did our due diligence.

I have this concern, because neither I nor my lawyer have recieved anything from USCIS since we changed out addresses, and my online status is totally incorrect, so I cannot rely on that either. Calling the 1-800 number confuses them, because my online status makes no sense. It says that the "respnse to RFE was recieved". The ironic and scary part is that there was never an RFE received by either my lawyer nor myself, and even better, the 1-800 number sees no history of an RFE ever being sent. What kind of a screwed up institution does this USCIS think they are anyway?

The reason I am so concerned is that my online status is so screwed up, and it has never been updated, similar to how this case number has never been updated. But to add to that I am concerned that notices will also not get to me in the mail.

No mail. No online status. I'm concerned.

Your approval is just on the corner.

Your FP was 08/03 so your case may not have been approved yet but soon. Here are some points you can do.

1. Did you set up mail forwarding with post office? If not do so.
2. If it's convinient, contact your previous address's owner to forward your mails.
3. If your lawyer is a professional attorney, he should have his business mails forwarded from his old address. you can ask him.
4. Set up email notice account on USCIS Web site. If your case is approved, they will email you. My case's on-line message was never changed until I got email notice.

Again, your case is not that bad so don't worry. I believe in a month or so you will hear good news.

Good luck!

This case is still in thier system. Sometimes I feel like calling and inquiring about this case (its not mine of course) just to see if USCIS ever plans to approve it, or if its already been approved. but that would be impossible, since I don't know the details of the applicant.

From what you have written above, I think you want to call and enquire about someone else application. Don't do that. It is a felony. To verify what I am writing. Go to USCIS site and create your account to track the application. There you will see the Warning. You can't put other application number.
You should get worried if your ND for I485 is after the processing date at the center. Also make sure you have send AR11 form in some speed post and you have the tracking number.

OK - I'll bite. I do not see such a warning anywhere on USCIS site. Of course, the general law applies, but the law prohibits unauthirized access, i.e. me trying to login into someone's else account.

Could you please share more details about this?

Thanks!
