spouse's F1 pending/I am laid off

I am laid off, and my spouse's F1 is pending. In his Form I-539, I was not added for F2 (because I was fine at that time). What I can do now? My plan is that I send an I-539, mentioning that my spouse's F1 is pending. Is this the right way? Will I be in trouble?

Another thing: If I apply for a F1 and I have a MS. Can I apply an bachelor or even an associate degree for a new major? For example, I'm in Chemistry, and now I apply for accounting associate degree?

I think you can file I-539 with your spouse's receipt notice. Say "yes" to part 3, question 3 in Form I-539.
