I am new to this forum, I kinda looked around for an answer to this question but don't think I found the answer. Forgive me if it has already been answered. My brother has a fiancee (wedding to be performed in Ghana), she is a US citizen. Is it easier/faster for her to file for him as fiance or as a spouse? Can anybody help answer this. :o

Even though the USCIS says that the Fiancee visa is quicker to get, I haven't heard of anyone who got it within the 90 days they say it would take recently. But I know of someone who got he Spouse visa in about 4 months. If he is already there and he has someone here to help him out with stuff like additional documents etc., I would say go for the Spouse visa. Good luck to your brother!

BPS, I would like to know what experience you are basing your opinion on. I have read other posts in this forum that said that the Fiance(e) visa took a lot longer than the Spouse visa on an average.

For a fiance(e) visa, the separation time is less, but the AOS approval time is unpredictable. I guess the K visa helps spouses re-unite faster than applying for consular processing and waiting for an immigrant visa, though this varies case by case.
