Will someone please tell me,how long does it take for a US Citizen to take his wife along with him.
 
My time line!!

Hello. Im a Canadian citizen, my wife is an American Citizen. We started the process back in April or May 2004. At same time we submitted a K3 Fiance Visa ( I think-- we have a lawyer sending us the forms to fil out!!!) As well we submitted a I-130!! Normally a K3 is faster but our I-130 was approved first, back in Mid July!! Our paperwork has all been approved, as of Oct 28. Now they will make an appt in Montreal. But they dont do that til the 2nd or 3rd weeks of each month!! So our interview will either be in Dec or Jan I have been told!! Hopefully Dec.!!! So I guess its approx 7-8 months for us, if it goes smoothly!! And depends which offices are processing your paperwork, some are faster than others!!!!! Vermont is a speedy one!!! My situation is somewhat similar to flames' except VSC approved i-130 early July and NVC still completing their bit. K-3 (in theory, the faster option) is stuck for some reason with the national benefit center.
As for Vermont, they received the application early Feb 2004 and approved it early July 2004.

By the way, flames, is your interview for K-3 or final 1-130?

Montreal Interview

My interview is for the I-130 (Cr-1) I have never heard anything from my 129F visa!! Its a non issue now!!! Best of luck

By the way, NVC finally finished processing my i-130 and forwarded it to the embassy (London) mid-Novemeber. Thant means, four-and-a-half months was the time needed to go through NVC for my application.
