Spouse using EAD when i am on H1

If i am still continuing on H1 and my spouse uses EAD to join a job, does my status remain as H1 or AOS ?
Do i have to maintain my H1 VISA if it is expired ?

H1 primarily, underlying AOS. You can choose to maintain H1 after its expiry. I would advice you to do that (still apply for your EAD and AP, but dont use them) just as an insurance.

So if I apply for H1 renewal, since the spouse has been working on EAD, I don't need to apply for H4 renewal as it was abandoned right?
