I have following questions regarding H4 stamping for Indian passport holder attending her stamping interview on her own.
The principal has h1b stamped on the passport.
-Is it necessary for endorsement of husband's (H1 holder) name on wife's passport?
-Does it give more authenticity to the H4 applicant's case having such endorsement when she goes for her visa interview in a US consulate in India? what if she goes to visa interview in a consulate in another country?
-is there a uniform procedure followed by all passport offices in India regarding endorsement of name? Does this require issuance of a new passport? In that case, what happens to the appointment that she took with her maiden name and old passport#?
-How much time should endorsement of name take in the passport offices in small cities (non-state-capital cities)?
We do have original marriage certificate issued by local municipality; but not sure how much value it has in the eyes of consular officer of a US consulate not located in India.
Thank you for sharing any insights that you may have.
