avm and online message was always " on nov 9 2001..received your application.."
I got rfe in nov 02 and replied in dec 02. got approval on 2/13/03.
Wife was not approved at that time...so called up IIO's 6 times in the past 2 weeks and kept asking them about the case...some refused to divulge info to me..asked to talk to wife who was at work..2 days back one kind hearted iio said " I really should not be telling you this but..something will happen soon "...then today the online message changed to " processing resumed" checked the avm just now...case approved on 2/27 !!!
more happy than my wife...me... I hit the roof !
Plan to go to San Jose INS sometime next week to get stamping done after receiving wife's approval notice.

SM, you are right , my wife had interview on 13th Feb and till today I have no words from INS.
You must be remember that I said before interview itself that it is nothing but just a start of another wait.

Vip, did you try contacting INS after that? What usually happens in an interview? Don't they tell you right there and then if you are approved or not?

tt tt:

Congratulations. It is really encouraging news.

Just to update you and those who are concerned about this spouse approval thing:
I called CSC twice last week. Until last night the AVM still case resumed for my wife's case.

But anyway congratulations to you two and enjoy your freedom.

I believe so

I called up 6 times in 2 weeks. On two occasions the IIO was helpful enough to say that she will put in a request to see that my wife's case was sent to an officer since me( the primary ) was already approved.(maybe that was the key)
At another time the IIO said that sometimes it takes time since the other case is at the bottom of the pile of the files that are given to an officer at one time..so that takes a month or so.
I checked with my friends and collegues and over the past 2 years in all cases the spouse's case was approved between 1 week to 1 month of the primary's ...surprisingly in no case were both approved together.
Long story short..lawyer wanted to wait for a month, I was getting really really anxious so I kept calling...and I like to believe that it paid off...my wife on the other hand does not think so and is not so sure on what she would have preferred : me not incurring the $30 or so long distance bill OR me sulking around the house all the time for more than the 2 weeks :)
