Hi,
I don't know if anyone knows the answer to this, but thought I'd ask...
As a U.S. citizen, I sponsored my wife several years ago to move to the U.S., but when she got her green card, we decided that based on career circumstances and needs at the time, we would just stay in Canada a little longer and then move. I became a Canadian resident. Eventually, she lost her U.S. residency because she never moved to the U.S. (On a vacation in the U.S., she was made to sign something giving up U.S. residency, because we had delayed moving to the U.S. for so long.)
Well, now we want to move to the U.S. again. My assumption is that we have to start over at the beginning with the I-130. However, I was wondering if this is true. Can we use a previous acceptance of the I-130 to reapply for the I-485, or do we really have to start with the I-130 again?
Thanks.
