sponsoring the parents

Hello everyone!!

this is my first post over here. Usually I come here to visit the forums and check out the discussions but had a question actually today which I am looking an answer for. Any help would be appreciated.

I recently got a green card and because I have been married just recently I have been given the green card for 2 years after which I gotta go for one more interview and then I would get a 10 year green card.

My question is can I sponsor my parents while on green card. I have heard rumors in desi community with people saying yes it can happen and read on lot of websites that It cannot be done.

any comments would be appreciated.

Lawful permanent residents may not petition to bring their parents to live permanently in the U.S.
If you become a USC then you can, and they would fall into the immediate relative category, no wait for visa number
