I have enough funds in my bank account to sponsor myself only the money has just gone in today. Will this look suspicious as my interview is next week? We inherited a house which is currently up for sale and this is my share of it. My mother gave me the money in advance. If she wrote a letter explaining this will that help?

hello la1,

But won't it look suspicious that i just got it a week before? judging by other posts here it look like it will. thats why i wondered if the letter from my mom to explain that might make it ok. do you think it will and if so what shold she say in it?

Yeah i would get what you can about it.
It does look suspicious and the fact its in your account is not the key thing. They also i believe want to see a consistency of funds, not just a figure.

Surely they can easily cop on to people putting in a load of money the week before to meet the requirement and who will transfer it back the next week.
So get her to outline that the money is yours to keep and use, not a loan.

Thanks for reply. Also, would it be enough to have a letter from the estate agent selling the house plus a letter stating how much I will receive from the sale? And if so, how would i get the letter notarised?
