Hi
I'm going to be a US Citizen in a month and I started the process to sponsor my parents and my brother who is under 21, currently 18 yrs old. So far I'm told that I can't sponsor my brother who is living with my parents. Once I will sponsor my parents and they will come to USA then they will sponsor my brother who is under 21 and it will take 6 yrs for him to come to USA. By that time he won;t be 21 anymore in that case what will happen?

I need to confirm with anyone of you, who knows anything about it? Their is no one back home who can take care of my brother. My dad is very sick and he can't live with him on his own becuase he needs treatment in USA. Therefore I need my mother also to take care of my dad. This leave us in serious trouble as for what will happen to my younger brother. Is there anything I can do?
Please advise where are in serious problem.

Regards

Once you become a US citizen you can sponsor your parents and they will be consider immediate relatives of a USC, so the waiting is not long, should be less than a year but depends in the Consulate if they are abroad.

You can sponsor your brother as a USC but will take up to 12 years to get his priority date current (even longer for certain countries). So the faster way is that once your parents become Permanent Residents then they petition for him and the waiting will be long but not as long as 12 years. He still will be eligible even he get older than 21 since his petition was before that, that is to avoid the "age out" How old is your brother?

For more information you can go to the USCIS webiste: www.uscis.gov

Good luck,

if your brother is under 21, he is probably still a student... have you considered transferring him to a school in the usa? if he gets accepted, he can get a student visa, then he can apply for a green card as a son of a permanent resident, while he is in the usa.... so you wont have to leave him alone.
