sponsoring my parents - Help!!!

I received my US citizen last year. Now I want to sponsor my parents from China.

From the list of item required, I need a copy of my birth certificate. My parents told me they do not have it. In China, in order to get your social card, you have to turn in your birth certificate. Unfortunately, my parents did not make any copies.

Will the US take any other form of proof, other then my birth certificate? Please help.
