I'm applying sponsorship for my parent now but I may get a job in US.If I move home to border and go back home every weekend,is that enough to say I still living in Canada and won't affect my sponsorship's application? Thanks.
I am hoping someone can give me some advice/answers to these questions and situation.
I am currently working and living in the US. However, I plan to file my taxes in Canada and keep my residential ties. My wife is currently living in Canada, but does not meet the financial requirements to sponsor her mother by her self. Also, she is planning on joining me over here soon. So, I suppose my question is - if I file and keep my residency, even though I work and live over here, can we sponsor her mother to Canada? I go back and forth to Canada almost once a month for a few days.
What is the best way to handle this? I can not move back to Canada at the moment and she is having a hard time leaving Canada because she wants to sponsor her mother. If she leaves she feels she will have no hope of sponsoring her mother.
I have filed taxes here in the US, and I know it will cost me more to file in Canada, but if it works this way - then it is worth it for me.
Please advice!
Thanks a million!
p.s. Sorry if it looks like I am hijacking the thread, though it sounded like my situation was close to the original post.
