Hi ,
After I get my citizenship what is the procedure for sponsoring the citizenship for one of our family members. My brother got his visa rejected multiple times(Visitor visa & h1b). And I really want to help him. I heard that a citizen can sponsor citizenship for his immediate family members. If so does any one have any idea,if it is possible and how long does it take to get a citizenship for him. And does he still have to go for a visa interview or something like that. what is the probability that he will also get citizenship(even though eventually). Please post your ideas.

Thanks.

First a correction: After you become a USC, you can sponsor family members for their GC. Once they get that, they have to wait (like you did) to apply for citizenship.

Depending on the relationship, it can be quite a long wait to obtain a visa number for the person being sponsored. The best place to see current wait-times is the Dept of State monthly visa bulletin.

Current priority date (PD) for a brother ("family 4th preference") varies from May 1996, back as far as Jan 1985 depending on his nationality.
