Sponsoring Brother

Folks,

Eventually I would like to bring by nieces to United States. I'm USC. I would think I would have to sponsor my brother. I believe first my brother will have to get GC under family immigration, correct? Once my brother gets GC, can his children get GC if they are under the age of 18?

Can anyone briefly describe the process of getting GC/USC for my brother and his children. How long is the current wait time for Indian citizen?

Currently the wait in the sibling category is about 11 years. Your nieces would have to be under 21 at the end of those 11 years, after accounting for the CSPA adjustment which may allow them some extra months or years after they turn 21.

You would file I-130 to initiate the process. Download the form and instructions to see what it requires. Just one I-130 covers your brother and his daughters (your nieces) and his wife (if any). At the end of the 11 year wait there will be additional paperwork.

Ooouch!!
Does the country you come from have any bearing on the waiting time for this kind of application or all are the same?
