could someone tell me what we should put in the sponsor letter.

sponsor letter if you mean form no. (I 134 ) : for you I THINK the form notairzed at notary public will be enough , but for your sponsor he must take his citizenship certificate , letter from his employer state his duty and salary and start working date, any other properties proofs, bank statment , credit card account , life insurance , while going to notarize it
if he is self-employment person , besides the above he must take the taxes for the past 3 years
if he send you a copy of these items with the form may be better i dont know really
take your bank account statments also , maybe you will not need it if you take I 134 , but take it anyway , thats better
