Is unemployment benefit a federal means-tested public benefit?
- I was unomplyed all through 2009, and my only means of income was my unemployment benefits, I am planning to petition for my spouse (I am USC) who is an Indian Citizen. I read that "federal means-tested public benefit" can not be used as income, Is unemployment benefit a (considerd as) federal means-tested public benefit? I do meet 125 % of the poverty line criteria even with unmployment benfits. Is that enough or do I need to get a co-soponser. I know the age of the petitioner the beneficiery, their qualifications and stuff matters, for that sake, me and my spouse are both engineers. and under 30.
Please advise
