She was pleasant but the news was not very pleasant,
me : i filed 485 15 months ago, still havent got FP notice
officer: they have barey started sending out october FP notices
me : can u guess when i can get my FP notice??
officer: they have 18 boxes of oct cases, so i atleast 30 days
me : how much time do you think it will take get approval after i get
         FP notice??
officer: it is taking FBI 12 weeks to send us response (this was shocking
to me, i thought it takes ony 3 days, is this true)
me : after that
officer: well then case can go to officer and then depends on officer and
         nature of case.

It has already been 15 months in AOS, i started filing in 10/97 and it was a year after i joined the company they filed, so basically since the day i was out of school i have been working for same company. I do love the company i work for, but this is REALLY frustrating a never ending process.
All of you who have been hanging in there, i really salute u, specially those who hate where they work, but have to put up with so many lost opportunities. I am sure if and when i get this GC it will be a anti climax. It cant be worth so much trouble.

I can understand your frustration...looks as if AOS is a horrible
way to get your GC...CP is a much better option I think...with folks completing the process in just about 6-8 months....

But, after waiting for 15 months, you wouldn\'t want to turn around
and apply for CP now...and so the wait continues...

Hope VSC gets it\'s act together...but, I doubt that will happen
in the near future...

I don\'t think what the IIO said is right. You are almost at the end of the tunnel. You should be getting your approval withing next 60 - 90 days(just by working on the current movement of 485\'s), ie. including you getting your FP. You have waited for such a long time, just wait some more time instead of jumping to CP and you should be out of the tunnel.

Hi,
Regarding FP approval from FBI, It takes any time between one week to 12 weeks depending upon where yoy did your FP. If FP is done in VSC area, it takes less time to reach VSC. If it is done other SC areas, then it takes more time though FBI clears within a day. I am in CSC area,( but I-485 is being processed in VSC) took more than 9 weeks to get into VSC records though FBI cleared it the very next day.

   Hope this help you.

Mogaram

My wife called up INS this morning for FP Update (RD 09/99, ND 10/99). The lady said Your case has been assigned to an Immigration Officer. It seems she said there are a total of 18 Boxes with 85-103 cases in each of them.
Our case is in one of those boxes and depending on who gets to them we should get our Finger Prints by the end of this Month or at the most by Next Month.

This information seems similar to the reply the originator of this thread got. I hope the IIO is right. Its been a painful wait.

Our Details EB2 INDIA PD/98 RD 09/99 ND 10/99 NO FP Yet
