Spoke to IIO, very nice, but no help+RFE

So am back speaking to an IIO a day! When i spoke to this nice lady y'day she gave me the good-not so good news of a RFE for my AP extension. Since I had used my AP 6 times I guess the INS wants to know why ..grrrrrrrrrrr ..anyway am still waiting for the RFE by mail.

She also told me to expect my case(485-AOS) getting assigned to an officer in June. The heartening part was she arrived at that date based on my EAD expiration.(End June)

So Silly Man's hunch and Pcee's hunch that the case may get adjudicated when your EAD is about to expire may be right.

So here I am, with more than a year after filing for AOS waiting for some weird RFE for my AP extension.

What a way to start the week! Feeling helpless. I now know why there are so many Psychiatrists making tonnes of money in the US of A all in the name of clinical depression. I gueee I have Manic depression :rolleyes: :o
 
Just curious to know how long u had to wait to speak to iio and also what time of the day did u try.

Well here I am waiting sine July 2001, no RFE and no EAD as I chose to work on H1B. Does the spring really come after winter ????
 
Million dollar question as to when u can get an IIO online. The only approach that works for me is to set my phone system to an automatic dial, y'day i got her at 1.30 PST. I had to hold the line after getting thru for almost 50 minutes!

I am trying to call again for a few of my employees , let's see what time I crack the code today :)

Good theory about APproval & EAD expiration

Now that I think of it..my EAD was to expire on Feb 13th...my 485 got approved on Feb 13th...same case with my wife..her 485 got approved 2 weeks later ..feb 27...pceefan..may be you are on to something here ! best of luck :)

to people like me whose EAD expired long back in Feb, applied for renewal in oct 02, no EAD no 485 approval, just waiting....

Hmm, then I should get my approval in 2-3 weeks as my EAD is going to expire in another 3 weeks. :)
 
Interesting theory...... but what about all those who are on iEAD after expiration of original EAD? my iEAD is valid till sept2003... does this mean I'll get my approval in Aug2003?

Hi, Guys,

It should be OK for people to believe the theory of the co-relation between EAD expiration and I-485 approval, especially for those whose EAD will soon be expired. Since this will make people think positively, I had been one of them.

But let us consider one simple issue, if that is the case then there should never be such thing of EAD renew. Make sense?

In my wife's case, EAD expired two months ago but IAM still saying finger print received. I-485 still pending.

I did observe something from this forum which I believe makes more sense, that is the co-relation between EAD renew application and I-485 approval. Something like when they process the EAD renew it reminds the officer that the I-485 is also due to be approved. I do not fully believe it but it sounds more reasonable than the EAD expiration and I485 approval co-relation.

Hope what zvdo2002 says is correct. My EAD expired on 13 Feb 2003 ; My I-485 has been pending since Nov 15th 2001. No, they did not take my application, just because my EAD was expiring. I went to the local INS and got an interim EAD. My AP renewal came in Nov 2002 and EAD renewal is still pending (since Oct 15th 2002). As the status yesterday when I spoke to a IIO, my I-485 is not assigned to anybody yet :-( At least I hope they take it up when the take up my EAD renewal application !

I have my EAD renewal filed way in DEC 2002 along with my AP. My AP got approved in like 3 weeks but EAD renewal don't seem to be happening anytime soon, so my attorney asked me to go get an interim EAD before the end of this month. I guess the 485 approval process seems to be worse then the pace of a snail. I have been waiting for my 485 approval for over a year now. I know there are tons of people who have been waiting for longer periods but lets hope that something does happen soon.
