I spoke to immigration officer regarding finger printing notice.

IIO: May I help you.
ME: I would like to know the status my I-485 application and
    finger printing notice.
IIO: Can I have your receipt number?
ME: Gave receipt numbers to him.
IIO: We received your application in Feb\'2001 and entered into computer
     in March 2001.
ME: Is it possible to find out, how long it will take to get finger
    printing notice and then after I-485 approval.
IIO: Actually computer automatically generates your finger printing notice
     and decides the processing date for your I-485 application.
     Looks like you need to wait 6 more months for FP and 999 days
    for I-485 approval.
ME: Is it? OK, Thanks for your information. See U. Have a nice day.

I understood i got one layman rather than IIO. because,
he is simply giving the time which has shown on receipts.

In my I-485 receipt, It has given as \'Normal time taking for
processing this kind of application is 975 to 999 day\'.
Same thing he told me. Hence I stopped asking questions.

Have you guys have the same time period in your I-485 receipts?

I don\'t have my receipt handy to check...but I am sure this is something standard that appears on all notices.

I wouldn\'t worry about it too much...too bad the IIO u spoke to wasn\'t very imformative.

isn\'t it possible what the IIO said might be right about FP being generated by their computer after they enter our information in their system? Like a IIO opens our envelope and enters all our 485 info..she looks in envelope and finds and checks all fields on screen..this received that received and so on.....if all docs required by "computer" is tick marked then it sends out FP notice..if not then some office looks and if he manually finds it ok informs computer to issue FP notice..i am just wondering how random can these IIOs get if they issue FPs...I know an, georgeM etc who have same ND as mine and they have not received FP notice but I did in middle of march

Please let me know tommorrow. I am worried about the time period given to me and oficer told me. both are same. Is it happened only for me or same for evry one as giving 975 to 999 days as normal time for processing.
