I spoke with an IIO this afternoon (RD 8/29, ND 9/25).

Learnt that the case is in final adjudications department. He said that I should hear a decision any day soon, although he couldn\'t tell me a timeframe (such as 30 to 60 days). Also, he asked me for the "A" number, rather than the "EAC" number.

Does anyone know what this "final adjudications department" means? How long?

Seems as though that VSC is processing cases with RD of 9/1/00 or before.

Hope this info is helpful

It will be approved in the next 2 to 3 weeks

or before. These IIOs give the maximum time like 30 - 60 days
for anything that you ask them.

If they say its 30 - 60 days, it means, your petition is likely
to be approved in 15 days or less.

Thanks Harapatta

I really appreciate the info, and I hope you\'re right that it will be done in the next 2-3 weeks.

How do you guys figure out that case will be approved
in 2-3 weeks ? Any insider information !!
I talked to IIO one month back
and she told me that within 2-3 weeks I should know as
my case with an officer. ND:8/21/00, PD:6/99; EB2/RIR/India
But as per these above messages, it should have been approved already
as it is well past 10-15 days where as IIO says 2-3 weeks.
No RFE yet, no news...
please do not generalize VSC..no one knows how VSC work !!!

I do hope that Fruit and others are right and your case will be approved within 2-3 weeks... For some reason, mine is ``with the officer\'\' for more than 3 months already (I called IIO on 5/11 --she told me ``30-45 days\'\'... still counting). Good luck!

VSC provides no guarantees

I think I agree w/ some of the posts above. As much as I wish that Fruit and Harapatta are indeed right, my gut tells me not to hold out that hope - it will only lead to disappointment. However, I will keep everyone posted with any updates.
