The IIO was quite polite and just advised that your case is line. That is all she could tell. Yeah....that's a big help!

What's the point of calling them? She said it could take another 2-4 months (and by that time they'll get rid of the phone service) and our cases will disappear into a black hole........

HI

Are they going to stop the phone service ? When is that rule passed and when is it going to be implemented ? Now a days, I am not visiting this site frequently, just to make my life easier.

Will the attorney of an applicant be allowed to contact the BCIS ? Please give more info.

The direct lines to service centers are supposed to come down in June. Instead there will be a toll-free number that will have the automated information. I don't think there will be an option to speak to an IIO but I have heard that the VSC will be tracking to calls relating to their center and caliing back in a day or two.

I don't believe that crap....I think we will be left stranded without information.

In addition we may have to contend with this 15 month fingerprint expiration business...

I had called IIO today

She told me 45 days( see my rd in signature ). Strange since my rd is a month after Rayman's. she told that after 15 months fp would have to be redone. so it seems that rule is there. Also read another post where a person actually did his 2nd fp. so another queue, another task and another thing to tackle soon. But God provides the strength to move forward, so why cry about all this ( even though I sometimes think about and worry about it ... but actually it is not worth the attention it is getting ).

What bothers me is that I have crossed my 17th month anniversary but have not received anything from BCIS regarding doing fingerprints again. The IIO I sopke to today also did not mention anything....

What's going on? If there is a rule why is being implemented so sporadically?

about the FP

I got a reply when I asked specifically. Probably there is a rule but probably they don't realize it until it is time and then they probably ignore it ( by using the old one... I wonder why they want a new set of FPs since it is all computerized .. earlier I would agree that they wanted one since they did "Anghoota chaap" as we would call in our desi way )

Your 17-month anniversary may be RD anniversary and not FP anniversary. Typically FPs are done about 2-3 months after RD, so your 15-month FP anniversary may be due this month. By when, you will probably get your GC too!

GodHelpUsGC:

By God you are right...You know I knew about that all along but I got so rattled after my conversation with the IIO today that I lost complete track of my dates....And I really do hope what you say is true and I get approved before the fingerprints expire.

My 15th month anniversary for FP is May 13th 2003

Thanks for bringing me back in line
:)

I wonder if there has been anyone who has gotten their GC approved without redoing their fingerprints even though there fingerprints expired after 15 months.

I think your file has been pulled for adjudication and will soon be assinged to an officer. After that it can take upto 60 days. I am in the same boat. As per my lawyer, my file has been assinged and should take upto 60 days.

Since you and I have the same RD, has your online case status changed from the usual "on so and so date the results of your fingerprint review...blah blah)?

As I had mentioned, the IIO I spoke to just said my case was in line.

Thanks

Thanks for the info. I just hope we are not the ones that are left behind like other filers from Aug, Sep, Oct 01............
