Speculation??? (may be not)

I was trying to put some sense into this random approval by USCIS and suddenly came across this hearsay (Actually it is not hearsay; the person I spoke to is directly affected by this)

He works with iGate, Pittsburg.
His lawyer told him that most of the filers who are due for their second finger printing would see an activity on their file.

USCIS feels that is one strategy to reduce the backlog is to avoid the filers go through their second FPs

So this random spate of approvals (for RDs ranging from Jan 02 to Oct 02) may not be as random as it looks like.

At least I sure do hope so.

Anybody else has heard on similar terms?

May be you are right.

They had stopped taking FP immediately after filing I485 . Now FP is done after 8-11 months of filing to avoid second FP. This is also one step to avoid backlog.

They may come up with issuing 2 years AP .

Naturally withdrawing employees from this kind of job will speed up approving of I485.

Doing a second FP is expenditure on USCIS, that they are trying to reduce by delaying the first FP to 8-11 months.

Also, I think the process is more or less like a batch process. In the last 15 to 20 days a number of people have given their 2nd FP, but their profile is not updated...., may be one day everybody will claim that they reicieved email from USCIS...,

Do we have to pay the $70 fee for fingerprinting if it comes to a second FP ?
Or does the original fee cover all of the FPs needed ?

NO, Expenditure for 2nd FP is USCIS headace.
Your headace is to keep your fingers with no injury, go to local office, wait in the queue, etc.

I got my second finger prints.

My wife and I did our FP last Feb, and have ot seen any movement yet as to requesting RFE, or approval. Maybe it's on its way, I cross my fingers....

interesting

maybe if uscis officer opens a case and fingerprinting
has expired, he does not processes it and sends a fp notice.
But, if he finds that fingerprinting has not expired, then he processes the case....

just my 2 cents :)
