Special Registration

I came to US in 1996 with a B2 visa (I still have I-94. I'm currently married to a US citizen whom I meet in college. Right now I'm out of status, and my wife would like to file I-485 for me. I'm a citizen of Bangladesh. Back in 2002, The Department of Immigration ordered for special registration and I have failed to do so. During that time i was in college, and I haven't heard the news about the special registration till 2006.

Could someone please advice what would be the procedure for me to do the registration, does National Security Entry-Exit Registration System (NSEERS) still require FIN number prior to send the file to ICE and what are my options/chances being deported? Thanks so much for sharing your experience...

Dont worry. I have a friend of mine who has the same case as yours and he got the green card. Though the name check took long time but he got it. The only thing you need to concentrate is try to find a good lawyer.

I believe u need to discuss this with some competent person. I was also subjected for NSEERS and in my recent AOS interview IO specifically asked about this and she wrote the FIN number from my passport and also checked on my I-94 (she kept that with her).
When they introduced NSEERS, our international office notified us very strictly to comply to the law.........
One scary thing is when you are traveling internationally..........you can get into trouble ..........make sure you should be safe

Thank to all for your reply, Dakazn -did you get any lawyer, would you mind sharing lawyers contact info. When you filled I-485, how long you had to wait for to get the NSEERS letter for registration. What did you do to setup the NSEER appointment for your finger prints, and what type of question did the immigration officer asked. Once again thanks so much...
